Zuture

Taking the pain (and needles) out of skin closure.

Why?

I’m staring at a screaming two year old. There is blood smeared on their face and fear in their eyes…

Why are we using 5000 year old technique to close skin?

Answer: Because it still works.

New Question: Can we improve on this solution?

Answer: Yes. Zuture keeps what works so well for 5000 years and removes all the problems (needles and trauma)

No Needles = No Trauma

Reversible and Adjustable

Cut to fit perfectly

Simple design that allows fast and flexible treatment.

Zuture is simple: a fancy sticker you sew to. The peel pack comes with a generous single use sticker and an aglet with 2.0 silk suture attached. The aglet is not a needle and is not sharp. It is designed to guide suture under netting. This also eliminates needle sticks to care providers. The sticker is large and can be cut to fit the wound perfectly. The materials are sterile inside the pouch and it is designed to be single use.

Simple Demonstration.

We frequently demonstrate the device on stuffed animals. First, it makes the point. Second, kids love Zuture and want to play with it. This is the opposite of how they are fearful of stitches. Pediatrics has always been an important target for Zuture. Third, it is portable and cheap. We frequently leave an animal as a reminder and promotional .
